OVERVIEW

As a STAS Security Service Manager, your responsibility is to ensure that proper policies & procedures are followed by all employees who are conducting security screening at the airport.  You are supporting the stakeholder relationship with aerodrome operations and air carriers at the airport locations identified under the Security Service Manager responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the liaison to the operations management team
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring service changes
  • Manage and control internal procedures and the implementation of quality standards
  • Monitor training effectiveness through adherence and compliance indicators
  • Manage the quality of the service delivery and supervise the new-hire onboarding process
  • Anticipate staff shortages due to absences, sicknesses or other operational issues
  • Coordinate meetings with Unionized Supervisors
  • Monitor compliance STAS & CATSA KPI’s
  • Liaise with key airport stakeholders and participate in key committee meetings (safety, security, union)
  • Disseminate and distribute and monitor effectiveness of new directives, bulletins, announcements
  • Act as the point of contact for all Contingency & Emergency Preparedness plans
  • Perform testing exercises
  • Mentor, coach, energize team members for optimal performance
  • Investigate and mitigate any labor issues, behavioral issues or competency issues
  • Define training needs and coordinate scheduling of training to ensure optimal use of screener time
  • Ensure accurate implementation of the collective agreement
  • Participate in hiring and selection process
  • Promotes STAS values, culture and “open door” management style
  • Acts as first-line incident resolution in conjunction Unionized Supervisors
  • Perfect knowledge of the collective agreement, the SOP, or any documents necessary to decision making for operations to run smoothly
  • Work with CATSA to meet, participate and coordinate any request or other operational needs (pilot, investigation etc)

ADDITIONAL  REQUIREMENTS

  • Have a university degree in an applicable field
  • Demonstrated leadership in a previous role
  • 1-2 years of Previous industry experience is an asset
  • Be legally entitled to work within Canada
  • Be willing to undergo extensive security and reference check
  • Possess excellent computer skills
