OVERVIEW

The Vice-President of Operations oversees all aspects of service delivery of the operations for Eastern Canada. The mandate includes, but is not limited to, managing multiple sites in Quebec and the Atlantic provinces, interacting daily with client representatives and ensuring compliance to all contractual requirements.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead the Regional Operations team to achieve STAS’s operational and performance targets
  • Ensure the Directors, Service Delivery actively participate and supports processes and initiatives implemented to achieve performance objectives
  • Supervise and Manage four (4) Directors, Service Delivery responsible for planning, scheduling and delivery of daily screening operations and compliance to our client requirements
  • Support and Assists the Executive team within their respective department
  • Responsible and accountable for selecting and maintaining qualified personnel in various positions and recommending compensation plans
  • Formulate operating policies and practices that align with organizational goals
  • Optimize use of resources for continued operational efficiency
  • Ensure the highest levels of business practices are in place and continuously monitors performance indicators while acting in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Review and approve plans for the control of desired outcomes related to; KPI’s, budget spending, labor efficiency, operational efficiency, operational effectiveness, and customer service
  • Review performance against operating plans and standards; provide progress reports to his/her team
  • Lead by example to promote leadership, strategic development and management guidance to the operations team
  • Foster a work environment where employees are highly motivated, hardworking, and feel empowered
  • Ensure that detailed policies, procedures, goals and milestones are effectively managing service levels and resources
  • Develop specific short-term and long-term plans
  • Oversee the recruiting, hiring, coaching and developing staff
  • Contract negotiation and budget planning

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, administration or a combination of experience and education
  • A minimum of ten (10) years in managing comparable operations at senior Level
  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Experience with contracts and emphasis on client relations
  • Excellent administrative skills, well-developed management and leadership skills
  • Experience in working in a unionized environment
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, train, and motivate personnel
  • Strong analytical and reasoning abilities
  • Participative management type — advocates team concept
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish credibility and make decisions
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal in both official languages
  • Bilingual
  • Results oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations
  • Willing to travel on a regular basis
